Important Life Lessons You Learn When Valuing Time Over Money
Discovering self-fulfillment through personal growth will just be the start of your journey

When I was 16 years old, I had a paper route, and every time I would pick up my paycheck, I would think to myself, “It would be nice if I made more money.”
That rhetoric would end up consuming my thoughts throughout my 20s.
Fast forward a few years, and I had landed a job with a company handling online disputes and claims that customers would file. My pay had increased significantly, but my mindset was the same — “If only I made more.”
As my career progressed, my pay increased, and at one point, I was making over $100,000 with relative ease, but my desire to earn more was more evident than ever.
Through this journey, I focused on career progression and acquiring skills to earn more, which caused me to lose friends, my relationships withered away, I lost touch with my family, and I lost the most valuable commodity of all — time.
What changed my mindset?
You can always work more or acquire a new skill to go up a pay grade, but you can’t do anything to gain more time — every second, minute, hour, and day that passes is irreplaceable.
